Daily Dream Home – Casa Mecano

Today we have prepared a stunning dream home – located in Península de Osa, Costa Rica, this fascinating home is not an imposing residential structure, it is more a cozy retreat from the stressful everyday life. Named Casa Mecano, this architectural project was undergone by Arquitectos Costa Rica, who designed the house as a natural “deck” for the surrounding landscape, “as an organism that adapts to its environment”.

Its bio-climatic architecture, perfectly adapted to the surrounding tropical environment, speaks the language of a relaxing indoor/outdoor relationship. A nautical-inspired roof line acts as a custom shading systems, which the inhabitants can manipulate to control the amount of natural light that reaches the interiors. A system of terraces almost surround the house, leading to the fascinating infinity pool in the backside of the house. The centrally located social spaces can be easily opened to the outdoors to capture not only panoramic views of the valley below, but also draw in fresh air and compose a breathtaking place to live.

‘World’s most expensive’ Christmas wreath unveiled

A Christmas wreath featuring over 40 glittering diamonds and rubies was launched this week. Costing a cool $4,645,800, the 138.83 carat wreath is made to order and takes just under a week to create.

The start of the piece is a 17.49 carat ruby, which is offset by a 3.03 carat yellow diamond.

Designed by top Finnish florist Pasi Jokinen-Carter, the wreath is made from some of the most luxurious flowers in the world, including Hedera berries, Nobilis, lingonberry and blueberry stems and hand-curled eucalyptus leaves.

The wreath also features Helleborus flower heads, one of which holds no fewer than 22 loose diamonds totaling 2.64 carats. The gems are all removable and can be added to next year’s wreath.

Alternatively, London jeweler and provider of the stones, 77 Diamonds, can turn the rocks into a bespoke piece of jewelry for no extra cost once the festive period is over.

Tobias Kormind, Co-owner of 77 Diamonds, said: “It is exhilarating to participate in curating a selection of gems that would create the most sparkling Christmas anyone could wish for.”

The wreath is available to buy from luxury website VeryFirstTo.com.

Sienna Miller Stars in New Ford Mustang Campaign by Rankin (Watch)

Sienna Miller stars in an advertising campaign for the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang. This is the first time the classic car is available in Europe in its 50 years of production. The actress says “Every time I am in America I’ve always rented a Mustang to drive so I’m very excited it’s coming to Europe. It’s a completely iconic car and it’s beautiful in real life.”

Photographer Rankin, who created the imagery and film to unveil the new car in Europe, adds “The Ford Mustang is the ultimate boys car, growing up my dream was to get one. Now it’s in Europe I may have to make that a reality.”

The new Ford Mustang has state-of-the-art suspension, optimised to deliver world-class handling, precise steering control and ride comfort, and innovative technology for enhanced control and connectivity. The car will also feature a choice of engines in Europe, from 5.0-litre V8 engine to the all-new fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine.

“The Mustang’s formidable reputation for performance and its iconic status as a symbol of freedom and optimism precedes it even in those parts of the world where the car has never been sold.” said Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Harley-Davidson Bat Bike V-Rod

Mighty and Good-Looking Harley-Davidson Bat Bike V-Rod

The experts at Shaw Speed and Custom never cease to amaze us with their extraordinary projects. The company’s latest endeavor involved a fantastic Harley-Davidson Bat Bike V-Rod motorcycle, which was modified extensively in order to become the beast that it is today.

The tuning specialists outfitted the bike with new Marzocchi superbike forks, a larger brake rotor featuring six pot calipers and a single-sided swing arm, but the overall modifications were much more extensive than that. The sublime, elegant black paint job received a few red anodized aluminum finishes for a plus of contrast, while the dashboard also boasts its own red LED matrix with matching instruments in the same fiery color.

As far as its name is concerned, it does indeed look like something that Batman would ride on his way to catch Gotham’s villains.

Copacabana Palace - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro’s grand dame hotel stands as a landmark of 1920s architecture.

Rio de Janeiro’s grand dame hotel, represented in the film Flying Down to Rio, where Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire danced across the ballroom floor, stands as a landmark of 1920’s architecture. Inspired by Nice’s Negresco, it evokes the glamour of a bygone era. Many of the bedrooms overlook Copacabana beach just steps from the hotel, although the scene at the outdoor swimming pool is as popular today as when Santos Dumont or Carmen Miranda took afternoon tea or sipped cocktails at sunset. The Sunday brunch and traditional Brazilian feijoada at the poolside Pérgula restaurant are unforgettable highlights, and in the world-renowned restaurant Hotel Cipriani, chef Nicola Finamore serves an innovative North Italian menu in a breathtakingly romantic setting.

The Copacabana Palace Hotel sits facing the celebrated Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The city, situated on the country's southern Atlantic coast, has many famous landmarks, including Sugar Loaf Mountain, the famed Ipanema beach, and the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer.
