Johnny Depp Confirms Engagement To Amber Heard

Actor Johnny Depp confirmed his engagement to actress Amber Heard today. While in Beijing to promote his latest movie Transcendence, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor told the Associated Press, “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.” A source told Us Weekly that Depp purchased the ring in question for Heard, but he’s wearing it because it’s too big for her finger (the ring in question is pictured above).

However, what does the 50-year-old actor think about wedding planning? “I think that I would be better at making women’s shoes than I would be at wedding planning,” he also told the AP. “I can’t plan anything. I’m really bad at that stuff.”

It will be the first marriage for Heard and the second for Depp. He and French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis were in a relationship for 14 years before announcing their breakup in June 2012.

Celine Dion puts Jupiter Island estate on market for $72.5 million

Celine Dion is putting her Jupiter Island, Florida, compound on the market for $72.5 million. The 5.7-acre property includes an eight-bedroom guest house, a tennis center with a simulated golf range, two pools connected by a private water park, and a beach house with a sleeping loft and massage room.

The elaborate $72.5 million estate was built in 2010, and was designed by Dion and her husband, René Angélil. It is the largest waterfront estate on exclusive Jupiter Island.

Dion is reportedly selling the property because she has extended her Las Vegas contract through 2019.

Bradley Cooper reportedly being targeted as the next Indiana Jones

Is Indiana Jones looking for a reboot? That’s the word from film website Latino Review, who are reporting that Disney (which acquired the Indiana Jones rights from George Lucas in 2012) is looking to treat the franchise like the Bond movies – bringing in a fresh actor every decade or so to keep the films from getting creaky. So who does Disney have in mind to play Indy? The answer is Bradley Cooper, star of such films as “American Hustle”, “Silver Lining Playbook” and “The Hangover”.

Cooper would certainly fit the bill as a young Indy. He would bring a masculine and roguish quality to the role. And at 39, he could easily carry the franchise into the next decade.

So what about Harrison Ford? Again, word is out that, as time passes, the studio doesn’t see Ford as a viable alternative. At 71, Ford is no longer a box office draw, and the studio is looking to put a tent pole stake firmly in the ground now – not try and milk an aging star (and audience) for one last time. While the last film did well at the box office, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was not treated kindly by critics and is generally not well regarded by fans of the franchise.

Speaking of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, what about Shia LaBeouf, who co-starred in the film, and who Steven Spielberg was apparently grooming to take the franchise lead from Ford? LaBeouf has effectively worked himself out of any consideration with his odd behavior, plagiarism accusations, and general lack of success in carrying a film.

Will Ford play Indiana Jones again? Or is Cooper (or another actor) bound to inherit the iconic hat and whip?

We’ll actually say ‘yes’ to both questions. By making known the studio’s desire to move forward with Indiana Jones, Disney is putting the pressure on Ford (and director Spielberg) to step up to the plate and commit to another film. Our bet is that it works. Ford and Spielberg will come around for one last go, while Cooper (or someone like him) will be prepped to restart the franchise shortly thereafter.

But let’s not kid ourselves – Disney won’t wait forever. They dropped $4 billion for the rights to the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. They’ll want to recoup that investment sooner than later. And by taking Indiana Jones in the direction of the Bond films, it allows the studio to rely less on the star and the filmmakers – and thus gives them a steady stream of income for decades to come.

J.K. Rowling Writing ‘Harry Potter’ Prequel Play

Author J.K. Rowling is returning to the world of Harry Potter, exclusively for the London stage. Exploring Harry’s world in the cupboard under the stairs before his days at the magical Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, J.K. said in a statement Friday that the play will “explore the previously untold story of Harry’s early years as an orphan and outcast.”

The prequel Potter play is scheduled to open in London’s West End in 2015, produced by London and New York veteran producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender. Harry Potter’s theatrical story will seek to “offer a unique insight into the heart and mind of the now legendary young wizard. A seemingly ordinary boy, but one for whom destiny has plans…”

“Over the years I have received countless approaches about turning Harry Potter into a theatrical production, but Sonia and Colin’s vision was the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry’s story to the stage,” J.K. added.

J.K. will not write the play, however, as she will co-produce the production and collaborate with a playwright.

Of course, her hands are full, as she plans to bring a Potter-inspired film to life: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on a Hogwarts textbook. As one of the richest people in England, J.K.’s Harry Potter novels have sold more than 450 million copies around the world and have spawned eight successful Warner Bros. movie adaptations.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Christie’s Auction Raises $38.8 million

The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’s 11th Hour auction at Christie’s raised over $38.8 million Monday night in New York.

In an effort to raise money for environmental protection causes, the Hollywood star and Christie’s auctioned off works from the world’s most famous artists including Banksy, Andreas Gursky, Bharti Kher, Julian Schnabel, Richard Prince, Mark Ryden and more.

Pictured below is a portrait of DiCaprio by American artist Elizabeth Peyton. It sold for a shocking $1.05 million to an unknown bidder at the auction.

The 11th Hour auction was dedicated to protect the last wild places on earth and endangered species, with the money raised at the auction going to conservation projects championed by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The star-studded auction attracted actors like Bradley Cooper, Salma Hayek and Tobey Maguire.

“Despite the significant efforts of organizations and individuals all over the world, our modern way of life has caused unprecedented devastation to our oceans, our forests and our wildlife,” the actor said. “We are at the 11th hour, we are facing a tipping point of environmental crisis unprecedented in human history.”

At the end of the night, the auction house said “The gifts of many other generous donors totaled $500,000, generating an overall amount of $38.8 million.”

Justin Bieber's Red Suit Was Inspired By ... Frank Sinatra?

Justin Bieber may have declared his retirement from music, but that doesn’t mean the Biebs will ever take a day off from bringing his own unique brand of style to the world. The star stepped out at the world premiere of Justin Bieber’s Believe in a red Balmain suit and white tasseled Del Toro smoking slippers — a look that his stylist tells PEOPLE was inspired by another singer that made ladies swoon: Frank Sinatra.

“I was told he’d be introducing his new artists to the world on the red carpet, so I instantly thought ‘Rat Pack’ — Justin Bieber as Frank Sinatra of course,” says his stylist Ugo Mozie. And though Bieber initially had asked for a white suit with red accents, Mozie steered things in a different direction: “As I put his look together, the red just took over. Red is powerful, sexy and masculine.”

Kate Moss in Stuart Weitzman’s Spring 2014 ad campaign

Kate Moss strips down, literally and figuratively, for the Stuart Weitzman’s Spring 2014 ad campaign. Photographed again by Mario Testino, the campaign embraces simplicity as it invokes a long, languid day in St. Tropez, with luxury footwear that seduce from day to night.

The ads feature Moss with minimal make-up, wet hair and barely-there cover-ups that embrace a luxe Bohemian look. Simplicity is a key theme for the ad as well as the new Stuart Weitzman collection. The footwear brand introduces THE NUDIST – a sexy, strappy, sleek, minimal sandal.

Moss debuted as the face of the Stuart Weitzman brand in the Spring 2013 ad campaign. The footwear brand strives for “sexy” – which means being comfortable and confident in your own skin. That feeling translates to the new campaign where life and shoes are relaxed, effortless, and chic. The international advertising campaign will launch in the United States, Italy, France, England, Canada, Dubai, Germany, Spain and Asia. Outdoor advertising (billboards and kiosks) will run in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Milan, Paris and Hong Kong. Behind-the-scenes video and additional creative content will be featured on www.stuartweitzman.com and in Stuart Weitzman boutiques worldwide.

Stuart Weitzman operates 45 retail stores across the United States, including New York, Beverly Hills, Chicago, Boston and Las Vegas. The company also has 59 international stores and is sold in more than 70 countries.

Lady Gaga for Versace

Lady Gaga is the new face of Versace’s Spring 2014 campaign, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
“#Versace proudly confirms @LadyGaga as the face of SS14 campaign shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott #VersaceLovesGaga,” the designer brand tweeted with a pic about the 27-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer.

The stunning photograph shows Lady Gaga channeling her best imitation of Donatella Versace in a lavender piece from the Spring 2014 Collection.

“I am honoured that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign,” Donatella said. “I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA.”

Gaga fans will have noticed that the ARTPOP entertainer wore custom costumes created by the Italian fashion house for her appearance on Saturday Night Live last week.

“Thank u to @versace for the beautiful custom costumes they designed for all my performances on the show! #SNLVersaceGaga am I dreaming?” tweeted the New York native, who transformed into a showgirl in a stunning gold and sequin-embellished, fringed corset for one of her performances.

Victoria and David Beckham Donate Clothes to Red Cross for Philippines Aid

Queues formed around the block outside a London charity shop on Friday after Victoria and David Beckham donated 20 boxes of clothes and shoes to raise money for victims of the Philippines typhoon.

Designer shoes and suits belonging to the Spice Girls singer turned fashion designer and her football icon husband were on sale at the British Red Cross shop in the wealthy Chelsea neighbourhood for as little as £100 (120 euros, $160) each, a fraction of their original price.

Buyers arrived at the shop up to two hours before it opened in the hope of getting a bargain, even if most of Victoria Beckham’s clothes will be too small for the average woman.

“We’re going to close early because we’ll be sold out — everything has gone really quickly,” Red Cross spokeswoman Laura Hinks told us.

“The clothes were priced very reasonably. David and Victoria wanted everyone to have an opportunity to buy something.”

They included a pair of Victoria’s striking cow print boots and denim and snakeskin cowboy boots with her name picked out in gemstones.

A similar mass donation by Victoria Beckham to a cancer campaign in 2010 raised almost £7,000, but there were no immediate figures for Friday’s sale.

Hinks said the famous couple had set an example: “They’re really hoping this encourages other people to go to their local British Red Cross shop and donate clothes.”

The window display featured a white suit and black shirt belonging to the former England captain, while there was a t-shirt with his wife’s nickname Posh and a white jacket with “Spice Girls” on the back.

There was also a sign reading: “Customers are limited to one VB or DB item only.”

Inside, five shelves were stacked with Victoria’s shoes and a rail of David’s jumpers on sale for £35 each.

There was also a red short skirt featuring the names of the couple’s sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

Even men were even snapping up pairs of Victoria’s heels, some of which later turned up on eBay.

A woman proudly tried on her new Le Silla high heeled shoes in the street, while another showed off a yellow Chanel jacket.

Victoria Beckham had earlier posted a picture of herself on Twitter sitting among a pile of boxes as she packed up the clothes, along with another snap of a cascading pile of shoes.

“Everyone has something in their closet they were holding onto, a dress, suit, or pair of shoes they thought they might wear again,” she said in a statement.

“Dig them out, bag them up, drop them off and give someone else the chance to buy them, raising much needed funds for the Red Cross aid effort.”

Super Typhoon Haiyan, which flattened dozens of towns in the central Philippines on November 8, has left at least 5,500 dead or missing.

Charlie Chaplin’s daughter, who makes a very convincing Coco Chanel, is joined on screen by Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, and Arielle Dombasle.

Press realease:
Martin Scorsese and Dolce&Gabbana celebrate iconic scents The One and The One for Men with sixty seconds of unforgettable film
Street of dreams is an epic story of the power of love and the power of dreams. This is a story of unbridled emotion. A story of Italy; of Hollywood; and of the world. Its classic cinematic style evokes both the grandeur of the golden years of Hollywood, and the passion and emotion of Europe’s greatest cinema icons. Scorcese’s campaign tells a tale of timeless glamour through its two protagonists, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson. United for the first time in a Dolce&Gabbana Fragrance campaign, their intensity is unmistakable as they come together on the streets of New York.
It is a celebration of passion, of beauty, and of being unique.
“The One and The One for Men encapsulate everything we do and how we see the Dolce&Gabbana man and the Dolce&Gabbana woman: multifaceted personalities, eternally contemporary, naturally charming, and always at the centre of attention. Fragrances with sensual sophistication and potent spirit in equal measure. Bringing such a unique cast together seemed like the best way to celebrate this,” says Stefano Gabbana.
“We asked Martin Scorsese to convey this uniqueness as he sees it. We wanted it to be a deeply personal portrayal. And that’s what it is: the film has Scorsese written all over it: it’s his New York, his story and his signature sweeping camera movements,” adds Domenico Dolce.
