Celine Dion puts Jupiter Island estate on market for $72.5 million

Celine Dion is putting her Jupiter Island, Florida, compound on the market for $72.5 million. The 5.7-acre property includes an eight-bedroom guest house, a tennis center with a simulated golf range, two pools connected by a private water park, and a beach house with a sleeping loft and massage room.

The elaborate $72.5 million estate was built in 2010, and was designed by Dion and her husband, René Angélil. It is the largest waterfront estate on exclusive Jupiter Island.

Dion is reportedly selling the property because she has extended her Las Vegas contract through 2019.

The Lovely Nam Dger Apartment Displaying A Sleek Swirl-Like Staircase

The Nam Dger Apartment is a contemporary home embedded with industrial elements of décor. Inspiring sobriety and elegance, this particularly beautiful home located in Nam Tower, in the very heart of Tel Aviv, is the work of Gerstner Architects, an Israel-based studio involved in luxury interior design projects. The interior showcases an interesting (and sculptural) swirl-like staircase, made of solid iron. The intriguing item becomes the core of the living room, standing out and making an impression on whoever ends up seeing it, due to its unpolished and industrial look. It also allows vertical circulation throughout the apartment. At a closer look, the staircase defined the neat design adding a touch of contemporary urban wilderness.

When it comes to colours, the designers sticked with neutrals. Nuances of beige, grey, black and white embellish the interior and give personality to it. The apartment is quite compact, so, in order to save some space, the doors have been removed. There are floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the sun to flood the interior with light and warmth. The living space seems more spacious and uncluttered. Somehow, this reminds us of the precious and coquette Scandinavian attic apartments.

Daily Dream Home: Your Private Castle Hotel in Versailles… Kentucky

Want to own your very own piece of Versailles? Now you can – sort of. Castle Post, a luxury bed and breakfast in Versailles, Kentucky (near the famed Keenland track) is for sale. Conveying with the 10-bedroom, 14-bathroom property are a 55-acre lot, adjoining 177-acre Thoroughbred farm, five barns, manager’s home and lake.

In total, the castle, one of the most notable landmarks in the area, has more than 50 rooms, including a library, sitting room, game room, and dining area seating 40. The grounds include a 20′ x 50′ lap pool, formal garden and oversized Chinese dragon fountain.

We’re thinking you could even snag this at a deal — the property, listed by Christie’s for $30 million, has been on the market since 2010 and is touted as being ideal for a “great private home compound or retreat.”

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s $20 million dream home

Model Gisele Bundchen and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s $20 million California dream home is finally finished, as photographs surface showing the amazing property following completion. Located in elite Brentwood outside Los Angeles, the mansion is 22,000-square feet and features eight bedrooms, a six-car garage, a lagoon-shaped swimming pool with spa, a weight room for Tom to train in and a wine cellar. It is believed that Gisele and Tom have now moved in to the mansion along with their two-year-old son Benjamin.

The roofs appear to be covered in solar panels and Gisele has insisted that despite its size, the palace is “environmentally friendly.” The couple bought the 3.75-acre lot for $11 million in 2008 and spent millions on the construction. Their neighbors include Arnold Schwarzenegger and Heidi Klum and her singer husband Seal.

Tom and his New England Patriots won the AFC Championship on Sunday (beating the Baltimore Ravens) and they’re on their way to Super Bowl XLVI.

Leura Lane House by Cooper Scaife Architects

Australian architectural firm Cooper Scaife Architects has created the Leura Lane House.

This contemporary house in Hamilton, Australia, features a skill ion roof and was designed to achieve a high level of energy efficiency.

Leura Lane House by Cooper Scaife Architects:

“This project is a prototype for a system of energy-efficient modular housing, designed specifically for rural blocks. The Leura Lane house is a ‘2 bedroom model’ comprised of two separate pavilions: one containing a carport and storerooms; the other containing living quarters. The independence of these two pavilions gives complete flexibility to orientate the carport to face the street, while the living areas of the house can be oriented north or towards preferred views. The house is linear in plan, with living areas at one end, the entry and utility spaces in the center and bedrooms at the opposite end. This plan provides the flexibility for additional bedrooms, bathrooms or living spaces to be added to the basic model.

Energy efficiency is a strong focus of the design. The house achieved an 8.2 star energy rating through the use of passive design principles, readily available materials and standard construction methods. The living spaces are oriented to maximize solar gain in winter, with the large skill ion roof calculated to provide summer shade. High levels of bulk and reflective insulation are installed in both the walls and ceiling and all windows are double glazed with an argon-filled cavity. Thermal mass is located in the floor slab, which is insulated from the earth to maintain warmth in the predominantly cold climate of southern Victoria. The narrow floor plan of the house allows for substantial cross ventilation and the roof space is vented for summer cooling.

The site is a semi-rural landscape on the edge of town that contained a significant amount of native vegetation. The use of natural materials that responded to this context was an important consideration and a restrained, simple palette was used both externally and internally. The interior has a warm, earthy ambiance with terrazzo tiles throughout the house and Australian hardwoods used extensively. The exterior is clad in spotted gum which will slowly weather to a silver grey as the building ages.”

Tavonatti House by PAR Arquitectos

Tavonatti House is a private residence designed by PAR Arquitectos.

It was completed in 2011, and is located in Cachagua, Zapallar, Valparaíso Region, Chile.

Tavonatti House by PAR Arquitectos:

“The commission was to develop a house under the standards of the real estate business, a basic and optimized program complemented by a strategy of exterior terraces and main rooms open to the panoramic view.

In response to a sunken site with a gentle slope, with glimpses of ocean views, the program aims to raise the programmatic piano nobile of the house, from the perpendicular overlap of 2 volumes of simple lines that make up a new dimension. The first, in elevation, in the direction of the views of the bay, which makes up the access and contains the public spaces.

The second, as a cross pavilion at natural ground level, which connects the private plane through a glazed gallery.

Transparency is worked integrally with furnishings on site, which filter light, give the required privacy, and activate different spaces as required by users.

The house is closed, sheltered at the public access area, unfolding and opening to the views.

To the southwest, we propose an exterior corridor as a traditional strategy to control radiation, generating a permeable facade that adequately links the interior with the garden.

Public and service indoor floors are black slate stone, 60×60 cms (24×24 in), and private floors are 8mm (0.314in) Eterwood. Exterior floors are pine wood deck, 2″x3″. The ceiling is made of pine wood paneling 1″x3″, anchored to the joists, forming a rigid diaphragm with the ceiling OSB boards and plywood boards of the mezzanine.

All the walls between rooms are partitions with a double row of galvanized steel studs, covered with 15mm (0.60in) OSB boards and 15mm (0.60in) plasterboards.”
